Donald & Jessie got us to shoot their cosy & meaningful solemnisation ceremony and a grand dinner at The Regent.

Jessie is a dancer in our church and she got some of her fellow dancers to dance during the worship session before the solemnisation.  After many years of capturing our church dancers on video (yup, video, not photo), it was an interesting change to photograph them.

We got to know DJ & Allie from church & we’ve known them for a number of years now.  It is indeed by God’s plan & timing that brought these 2 lovebirds together.

It was such a joy to see the both of them tie the knot, especially in our own church!  It was kinda reminiscent of our own wedding. =)

Congrats to DJ & Allie!  Hope you guys love your album as much as we do!

This morning we got a pleasant surprise when one of our friends informed us of a win in the latest WPJA contest.  The winning image got placed 8th in the “Reflections” category.  The image was shot at our cousin’s wedding, which made this win even more significant to us.

This is the first time we won a placing in the quarterly WPJA competition, and we are absolutely thrilled to be placed amongst the top photographers in the world.  We will definitely work harder to produce more stunning images for our dear clients.

Off for a small celebration!

Shaun & I go back a long way. A really REALLY long way! You see, Shaun is my cousin. Not just any cousin, but the cousin who’s just 5 days older than I am, graduated from Primary school together, whose dad I learnt how to cycle from. I have known this guy all my life! All these years, although our busy schedules have not allowed us the luxury of meeting up as often as we would have liked, we always have a blast whenever we get the chance to.

During my own wedding, Shaun was my best man, doing an excellent job in making sure that he was there whenever I needed help. Thanks man!

It was truly a joy for Olivia & I to shoot for Shaun & Jeanette, to play a big part in their wedding. Needless to say, we had an awesome time. It certainly helped that we knew a large part of the family. =)

They had their “Guo Da Li” two weeks before their Actual Day.  The roast pig was HUGE!  Jeanette’s sure worth a lot!

Jeanette’s grandfather gave her this gold chain which belonged to her grandmother.  It’s 6 feet long!

At a recent meet up with one of our couples to deliver their album, the groom commented that at certain times during the wedding, he noticed that I simply stood in a corner, not shooting. He expressed that at that point of time, he felt concerned that his photographer was “idling and not taking pictures”, but he is now more than happy after seeing his photos.

Why was this so? Is Gene a lazy bum who doesn’t put in his fullest in shooting weddings? Definitely not!

At a wedding, there are so many positive emotions being felt by the couple, their family and guests. The couple deeply in love, the happiness for the couple felt by their friends, the pride of their parents and the realisation that their children have all grown up and are starting to build their own family, everyone’s excitement of seeing the beautiful bride… The list could go on and on.

Photography on the other hand could become very technical. The proper camera settings, proper composition, etc etc…

We at PhotosByMarbles shoot weddings with our hearts. We pause at appropriate intervals to feel with the couple and their guests. We laugh with them and really immerse ourselves in what’s going on during the wedding.

When a couple hires us, they don’t just hire a photographer. They invite a friend to their wedding as a witness and storyteller. As the wedding day unfolds, the mood of the couple changes, so does the way photographs are captured. Being able to soak in the atmosphere of the wedding enables us to better document your wedding, allowing the emotions to show in the photos. That’s what makes a world of difference!

We had no idea this was going to happen…
